· AHI Miznak is a ship that served between 1968 and 1996. The ship was built at the Construction Mechanic de Normandie shipyards in Cherbourg, France. It is one of five ships. Near their completion, the French government imposed an embargo on the sale of weapons to Israel, and although half of their price had already been paid, the ships were detained in France. The Israeli defense establishment managed to smaggle the ships while maintaining the framework of French law and complying with the rules of maritime law.· • The ship was built as a Saar 1 gunship in 1973, before the Yom Kippur War, it was converted to Saar 2, and additional capabilities were added, including carrying the Gabriel missile. The ship participated in naval battles in the Yom Kippur War. · • In the late 1970s, it was converted to a primary mission of anti-submarine warfare (ASW) by installing a towed variable-depth sonar.
