In the early years of the state and during the period of military rule, there was close and almost symbiotic cooperation between LATAM and the General Security Service SHABAK<br \/>\nKey details about LATAM&#8217;s activities and the connection to the SHABAK:<br \/>\nDomestic and political intelligence: LATAM served as the overt and official executive arm for activities, some of which were directed behind the scenes by the SHABAK.
