The department dealt with the acquisition, concealment and transportation of weapons, in cooperation with the military industry (the department&#8217;s commander was Asher Peled). In January 1948, the Armaments Department became the &#8220;Armaments Service&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>The War of Independence (November 1947 \u2013 January 1949) &#8211; The first units for vehicle restoration and improvement (BMV &#8211; basic workshops) were established.<\/li>\n<li>1951 &#8211; The &#8220;Technicians&#8217; Corps&#8221; in the IDF was renamed the Armaments Corps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Corps&#8217; main focus is on maintaining and developing weapons and combat support equipment. Its personnel are engaged in research, development, testing and testing of combat systems, developing maintenance methods and training personnel to provide maintenance solutions for all combat equipment.
