· אח"י מזנק זוהי ספינה ששירתה בין השנים 1968–1996. הספינה נבנתה במספנות קונסטרוקסיון מקאניק דה נורמאנדי, בשרבור שבצרפת היא אחת מחמש ספינות . סמוך להשלמתן הטילה ממשלת צרפת אמברגו על מכירת נשק לישראל, ועל אף שמחצית תמורתן כבר שולמה, עוכבו הספינות בצרפת. מערכת הביטחון הישראלית הצליחה למלט את הספינות תוך שמירה על מסגרת החוק הצרפתי ועמידה בכללי המשפט הימי.
· הספינה נבנתה כספינת תותחים מדגם סער 1 בשנת 1973, לפני מלחמת יום הכיפורים, הוסבה לסער 2, ונוספו לה יכולות נוספות בהן נשיאת הטיל גבריאל. הספינה השתתפה בקרבות ימיים במלחמת יום הכיפורים
· בסוף שנות השבעים הוסבה למשימה עיקרית של לוחמה נגד צוללות (נצ"ל) על ידי התקנת סונאר נגרר בעל עומק משתנה.
