• NETZ COMPANY
• In 2011–2012, the mounted company was established, based on fighters who had previously been assigned to the sectoral companies. The fighters in the mounted company were grouped together at Camp Ofer instead of continuing to operate in the various brigade camps, in order to centralize command and the assimilation of the profession under one roof. The definition of the teams became identical to that of the designated company – a collection reserve for the various areas according to need, with the professional authority in the unit influencing the selection of its missions for the most relevant areas and not tied to a particular sector. In addition, a training company was established in the unit that would be responsible for the competence of the fighters and observers, and in addition, an increase in the number of observers to respond to all the challenges in the field of stationary collection.
• Together with the Shin Bet and the Investigations and Intelligence Division of the Judea and Samaria Border Guard, the unit developed techniques for criminalizing those who cause disturbances in the Judea and Samaria region, with the unit’s fighters specializing in recognizing the faces of the disturbances and subsequently arresting them, by forces from the unit and other forces.
• Under the division commanders Hagai Mordechai and Tamir Yedai, the connection between the unit and the division was strengthened, and teams from the designated company regularly passed under the Judea and Samaria Border Guard and Unit 217 to carry out special and secret missions in the division’s area. During these years, the observation transmission in remote and isolated positions was transferred to the central sectoral collection units. After headquarters work, it was decided to add an additional deputy unit commander to the unit, which would allow for the division of command attention between the observers and the fighters.
• In 2014, the unit participated in Operation Return of Brothers to find the three kidnapped boys in the Etzion and Yehuda Brigade areas[12] and dealt with the wave of disturbances that followed. The unit prepared to enter the Gaza Strip during Operations Pillar of Defense and Protective Edge with the Kfir Brigade and other units, but ultimately did not actually participate in the ground entry into the Strip, in order to respond to the operational reality in the Judea and Samaria sector.
